A particle used before other words to imply that the person spoken of possesses the same character as other persons whose character is mentioned, as co-executor, and executor with other; co-heir, an heir with others; co-partner, a partner with others, etc. - Co. is also an abbreviation for "company" as John Smith & Co. When so abbreviated is also represents "county."
